Urban Decay

As I said I would in my August favourites, I'm going to write a post about Urban Decay Cosmetics. Why? Because I am absolutely in love with this range!!!
As a student, it's not something I can invest in regularly, but the products last well and I'm so happy with the results! Plus, you have to bare in mind that they are imported products from the USA and it's also natural and cruelty-free. So it's reasonable really :D

The story behind my discovery of Urban Decay is that I was searching for a make up brand that was similar to Rimmel but cruelty-free and so I came across Urban Decay! Only trouble is, because it's a slightly lesser known American brand, there aren't many places that sell it in the UK. So it takes a lot more effort to find here ie. in some Debenhams and House Of Fraser stores.
So one afternoon in August I decided I wanted to talk to someone about the products so I made a trip down to my local Debenhams and the rest is history. I loved the products and booked another "consultation" for September.
The assistant of course used more, but I started off with some basics.
These products included the Naked Basics Eyeshadow palette, Naked Skin Liquid Foundation, Perversion Mascara & Subversion Eyelash Primer and the Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush.
Safe to say I love them! I love the feel - and smell - of the foundation, the softness of the powders and final effect of the mascara! I love this brand because it doesn't feel obvious that I have make up on. It's all light and actually makes my skin feel better!
I opted for a more natural look this time round as I still had a significant portion of the day left; I added a line of black eyeliner on my lower lid when I went out that evening.

Second visit:
This time I wanted to be a bit more adventurous with my look so I opted for a subtle smoky eye.
This time I opted for these products:
Revolution Lipstick - "Liar". A very natural finish; you could definitely use this for both a day and night look.
Naked Flushed palette (bronzer, highlighter and blush).
Naked Skin Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder (Shade: Medium Light)
Naked Flushed Double-Ended Brush - so fluffy!!
Moon Dust Eyeshadow - this gives a darkish sparkly finish to your eyeshadow that I loved as an addition to the smoky eye look. I love the description on the box as well: "You've never seen a sparkly shadow this sophisticated. Microfine bits of iridescent sparkle collide with intense, dreamy use and 3D metallics - for an effect that's out of this world". It sounds so enticing and fun! #marketing.
I was hesitant at first but I have to say I absolutely loved this second look as well!
On a side note, I love the inside decoration in the packaging! It's so pretty!!
I was super chuffed when the make up assistant then gave me this Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream bag for free along with a couple of samples, just "because I was a bubbly, chatty person".
It is said that once you've found a brand you love, you're set and you can't be swayed. I have to say, this brand has set the bar high for others. :D
